In his Philosophy, Young observed that there are remarkable and observable differences between how girls and boys throw the ball. Girls actually do not use their body to the fullest potential. By concentrating on being told that they cannot throw "normally", girls lack confidence to develop to their fullest potential.

The way a woman views herself is actually changing how she actually "lives" in her body. Being told that a girl can
do has the opportunity to shift her focus from trepidiation of action to certainity in performance and lead to full use of the body. 
The University of Michigan is an elite institution, where students learn about the history of the world and future possibilties. With classes focused particularly on gender conflict and abilities, do classrooms inherently tell college women that they can or cannot as they look to plan their future?
